Heat (1995)

Hosted by
Todd Wofford

This episode kicks off our March series, where we look at the best movies that were never nominated for an Oscar.  Our first installment features an all-time classic:  Michael Mann’s Heat, starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer, and many others.  It’s a three-hour crime epic with phenomenal performances, trend-setting direction, and one of the most incredible bank heists in cinema history.  If you’re a movie buff, this is one you have to check off the list.

As with our Batman podcast, we’re also discussing wines that have garnered an unfair reputation.  At the top of that list is Merlot, one of the great old-school grapes.  For this installment, we try the Camp Merlot, which turns out to be very fruit-forward and easy-drinking–perfect for binging classic movies.

Next up, we tackle the best poker-based movie ever made.  Enjoy!
